Life is hard. Philosophical counselling is close and careful conversation to find one’s own way in a troubled world – a meaningful and emancipating alternative to psychotherapy. No academic philosophy required! 


I began to study philosophy academically to learn to think about experience, belief and ethics.
I took up the practice of philosophy as a way towards living well in the world with others.
My philosophical counselling practice, which is the natural extension of both of these, offers a safe and thoughtful space to consider your own life and the living of it.

I have been counselling and writing about philosophical practice since 2002.
